Happy 4th of
July!

Hello Fellow MOMs,
I hope that this finds each of you well
and enjoying your July! I wanted to take a minute and tell you how
excited I am to be your new CVMOMs president. I feel that CVMOMs is
such a wonderful opportunity for each of us to develop friendships,
support new members and be a presence in our community. I encourage
you to be active in the group as we each bring vastly different and
varying skills and opinions to the table. If each person will take
on some responsibility it will not become a burden to anyone. We
need EVERYONES help to be a strong group. I encourage you to attend
the monthly meetings, they can at the very least provide a much needed
break (I know with our busy lives this isn't always possible, but come
when you can.) I ask that we each respect each others opinions and
remember that sometimes it is ok to agree to disagree. I
also ask you to remember that we all have one thing in common, we are
mothers
of multiples and no one else can
provide support and share in our glory in that area of our lives better
than a fellow MOM! We each took a different route to get here and we
each have our own unique story of our journey. I welcome any
feedback from you throughout the year as this will help me in being a
better president for you. Please know that you can call on me
anytime you need something, if I can't help I will assist in finding
someone who can. I look forward to the coming year and working
together to make CVMOMs an even more outstanding group of women. If anyone
has anything that they would like added to the agenda for the July meeting
please call or email me by Friday, July 11. Thanks Shera 461-0434-cell 466-3554-home Shera1970@charter.net

Hi,hope everyone is well.I am sitting at home on a
beautiful summer day, just got back from swim lessons for our twins Skylar
and Sarah, feeling very refreshed. There were not many children there and
maybe four adults who were either busy watching ther children, talking on
the cell phone or playing suduko.I looked over and noticed that the kiddie
pool looked crystal clear clean WOW...just sparkling! So I decided to take
the plunge in the kiddie pool..no one seem to notice..so I just started
floating...looking up into the blue sky..I hadn't noticed what a deep blue
until that moment, and the clouds so white reminded me of cotton balls
pulled apart, whispy edges just floating along.I started stretching..and a
few bones realigned...I calmed down my breathing....I let myself find a
few minutes of peace.I try to let myself find those wonderful,
happy, peaceful, moments every single day of my life. I was thinking of trying to find a name for our news
letter.....WOULD YOU like to help?????I have a couple of good names but I
thought it would be more fun ,If we voted on the name of our news
letter.Which ever name gets the most votes at our next meeting wins
........drum roll......a full body one hour massage...Anyone not liking
the prize but has a great name for our news letter can see me.I wish
everyone lots of moments peace,love

I have a challenge for everyone.
Everytime I go somewhere I try to pick up at least one piece of
litter off of the ground and throw it away or put it in my car to
throw away at home. It would be nice if every person in the US would
do that. Imagine how much cleaner our town, state, and country would
be. We can teach our children to do this and it will stick with them
for life (hopefully).
So my
challenge is for all MOMs, spouses and children old enough
to know not to put it in their mouths to pick up at least one piece
of litter every time they walk out of their homes. One
little piece of paper may not seen like much but if everyone did
this it would really make a difference. Have a great
week.

Carolyn presented a Checking Account Statement as of June 9 2008. If
anyone would like a copy please email CVMOMS. We also elected new officers

postitions, and the brave souls who took them.
**
Anyone who left a postition needs to send Carolyn a propsed budget for the
upcoming year(estimate of what was spent last year).

pool party. Everyone should bring their bathing suit (and yes we have all

food/drinks at the July meeting.
**Important Notice:We have a speaker coming to our
July meeting to share information about Identity Theft

conversations to the social portion of our meetings. We have had some
complaints about conversations going on during our business portions and
MOM's not being able to hear discussions. I know we are all excited to see
our fellow MOMs that we have not seen in almost a month, but out of
respect for other MOMs and speakers please wait. Thanks for your
cooperation.

When you go to buy bread in the
grocery store,
have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you 'squeeze' for
freshness or softness? Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to
the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and
Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie. They
are:
Monday
= Blue,
Tuesday
= Green,
Thursday = Red
Friday =
White and
Saturday = Yellow
So if
today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is
Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color
Blue
- Green
- Red
- White
-Yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to
remember. I thought this was interesting I looked in the grocery
store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the
ones with the plastic clips have different colors. You learn
something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the
right color on the day you are shopping.

Playdates
Please Contatct Stephanie if you are willing or
able to host a playdate.
I have spent some time looking into
possible playdates and activities several of you have took interest
in. I would like to express that if anyone has any idea about a
playdate or social activity they would like to get the
club involved in, please feel free to contact me at sjosey@charter.net. I am
willing to accommodate any age level, so please just let me know.
Lauren expressed her
interest in having a free activity for her 18-month-old twins.
Patrick Beaver Library and Ridgeview Library have several activities going
on during the week. They usually have storytime and other activities
for younger children. On Tuesdays, PBL has a Sing & Play for 1-3
yr. olds at 10:30am and for babies, there is a class at 10:00am on
Thursdays. Also, I found interesting that The Balloon Lady will be
at Ridgeview Library on Tuesday, June 24th at 10am and again at Patrick
Beaver Library at 2:30pm on the same day for storytime with
balloons. However, they did inform me that the balloons will be
given out at the end but not every child will get a balloon, so keep that
in mind. I was also told that if we go as a group, Ridgeview Library
would be best, because they have more room and PBL can't accommodate
groups well. If anyone would like to call either library for further
information, Ridgeview Library's # is 828-345-6037 and you can call Hannah Owen at
PBL at 828-304-0500 x7624.
At our last meeting, some of
you had an interest in getting your children involved in swimming
lessons. I called Shuford YMCA and Hickory YMCA. Attached are
prices and times for swimming, AM and PM. Also I know Beth has had a
difficult time in contacting LRC for their swimming classes. I got a
hold of the man in charge of renting out the pool. Classes are
$12.00 per week per child for 2 classes. Classes are for 30 minutes
on Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday at 11:00, 6:00, and
7:00. On Saturdays, you can pay $7.00 for a one-time class and time is
unknown. I apologize for that. If you would like to reach him, his
name is Paul Schiffle and his # is 828-256-5600 or cell 828-310-3924. He prefers to be reached
by cell.
I also saw an ad
on TV about Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe Amusement Park. I know that
this activity will be very hard to get everyone involved in, so I will do
the best I can. Maybe we can plan 2 different dates so everyone can
have an opportunity to go. Most of the days this summer the park
will be open from 10AM until 7PM. The prices are as follows: All Day Splash- 48"+ $29.99 All Day Splash Jr.-<48" $19.99 4PM Splash-48"+ $21.99 4PM Splash Jr.-<48" $16.99 Seniors- 55+ w/ID $19.99 Children <2 yrs. FREE
Now, I called them about a
group discount. If we can get 15 people to go that pay regular
admission (excluding the children under 2 yrs.) we get a group
discount. Also, for every 15 people that go, we get a complimentary
ticket. Prices fall slightly to: All Day
Splash- $23.00 All Day Splash Jr. $15.00 4PM Splash-$17.50 4PM Splash
Jr.-$11.50 I would recommend we make a day out of
this, because if we go after 4pm, we will only get 3 hours to enjoy the
park and we are driving too long to go for that short period of time,
personally. I know this activity is rather expensive, but it's an
opportunity for some of the older kids to have fun this summer and create
family time.
Stephanie
For all
the playdate events
scheduled, please RSVP
and
contact Stephanie Copeland to let her know how many or if you have any
questions.

Giggles and
Grins
Hillbilly
Birth
Deep in the back
woods of Letcher County Kentucky, a hillbilly's wife went into labor in
the middle of the night, and the doctor was called out to assist in the
delivery. Since there was no electricity, the doctor handed the
father-to-be a lantern and said, "Here. You hold this high so I can see
what I am doing!."
Soon, a baby boy
was brought into the world. "Whoa there", said the doctor, "Don't be in
such a rush to put that lantern down. I think there's another one
coming."
Sure enough,
within minutes he had delivered a baby girl. "Hold that lantern up --
don't set it down there's another one!" said the doctor.
Within a few
minutes he had delivered a third baby. "No, don't be in a hurry to put
down that lantern, it seems there’s yet another one coming!" cried the
doctor.
The redneck
scratched his head in bewilderment, and asked the doctor, . ... . . .
"You reckon it
might be the light that's attractin' 'em?"

PREGNANCY Q
& A & more! Q:
Should I have a baby after 35? A: No,
35 children is enough. Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will
my baby move? A: With any luck, right
after he finishes college. Q: What is the most reliable method to
determine a baby's sex? A:
Childbirth. Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so
moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational. A: So what's your question? Q: My
childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during
labor, but pressure. Is she right?! A:
Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air
current. Q: When is the best time to get an
epidural? A: Right after you find out
you're pregnant Q: Is there any reason I have to be in
the delivery room while my wife is in labor? A: Not unless the word "alimony" means
anything to you. Q: Is there anything I should avoid while
recovering from childbirth? A:
Yes, pregnancy. Q: Do I have to have a baby shower? A: Not if you change the baby's diaper
very quickly. Q: Our baby was born last week. When will
my wife begin to feel and act normal again? A: When the kids are in
college.
