Located in Goldsboro, NC, GPOMC is a non-profit club that supports the parents and guardians of multiples, both before their children are born and during the critical months and years that follow. We are here to promote interest in and knowledge of multiples, to exchange ideas about caring for your children, offering guidance and support. Our group is comprised of a wide variety of parents whose occupations range from student, working parents, and stay-at-home working parents. We all have or had at least one multiple pregnancy and many have singletons. This unique group with a wide range of backgrounds will help parents of multiples meet the needs and goals of raising their children. With the practical experience that we all gain daily, we can help you meet the challenges you will face with confidence. GPOMC membership entitles you to participate in all club activities and functions, as well as membership to the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club, Inc. and the North Carolina Mothers of Multiples Club. Each member must be a parent or guardian of multiples, or have had a multiple pregnancy. When And Where Do We Meet? GPOMC meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Goldsboro Skin Center. (2613 Hospital Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534) No official meetings are held in July or December. Instead, a family picnic and Christmas party are held for the entire family. What Happens At Meetings? Typically there will be a speaker at each meeting. Past speakers have included a representative from Kindermusic and Creative Memories as well as a Chiropractor to speak on back health and an attorney to speak on writing your will. After the speaker finishes, club business is discussed. The remainder of the meeting is reserved for parents to discuss any issues they may be currently facing potty training, getting your twins into their own bed, mom getting some needed r&r, etc. What Do We Do? GPOMC is a new club, having been founded in April 2006. Current programs that we offer to members and guests include a summertime club yard sale, easter egg hunt for the children, a club picnic and Christmas party. We also hold an annual fund raiser to help offset the cost of members attending the state conference. Play groups are scheduled weekly and stroller days are scheduled monthly. We maintain a preemie closet and a library for club members. We are also working to build our outreach program to pregnant mothers of multiples that may be overwhelmed by what lies ahead. We are here to offer support and suggestions. Club Membership The fiscal year for GPOMC runs from July 1-June 30. Membership dues are $25 annually. This fee covers your membership into GPOMC, NCMOM and NOMOTC.
